Bunnahabhain 21yo

In our catalogue we have Bunnahabhains of every kind: peated or unpeated, sherried or not, sweet and fruity or dry, tannic and vinous. Actually one style was still missing… the delicate, flowery, fragrant and clean profile quite typical of older production. At the nose it’s initially restrained, with delicate notes of honey and rosewater without being explicitly sweet, and just a whisper of peat. At the palate, it’s clean, very mineral, only slightly winey and with notes of green bananas and pears: a firm and appetizing profile. Where it gains intensity is in the austere and old fashioned finish, with a crescendo of white pepper, aromatic herbs and a moderately astringent tannic character that leaves the mouth clean. A very elegant Bunnahabhain indeed.
