Independent Cragganmores have always been extremely rare, so we are glad to be able to offer to you this very special bottling. Its full dark gold colour shows lots of promise, and it smells broodingly dark, sugary, with notes of Demerara rum. You can feel some sherry, but it’s not an overwhelming wine bomb. Actually, it smells very ‘old school’, powerful and rich without being unbalanced. At the palate it’s very intense, slightly nutty, extremely creamy: its thick and syrupy texture is absolutely striking, with notes of buttery biscuits, gentian root, a touch of coffee, rum filled chocolates, and a hint of smokiness. Again, it tastes like a malt from decades ago, very ‘classical’ and with a subtle and well integrated influence from the Pedro Ximenez.
