House Malt

The 2015 release of our beloved peated single malt will certainly please those who may have found the recent ones a bit too gentle (relatively speaking): the new bottling is smoky, smoky and smoky, for the pleasure of all the peat-freaks around the world! Actually, the first olfactory impression is not smoke… but banana! That’s right, a sweet, fruity and estery impression, no doubt due to the fresh bourbon casks. But wait a few minutes or, even better, take a sip: the full blast of peat, fireplace smoke, ashes and tar will blow you away. The sweetness on the palate is moderate, revealing a malty but quite dry character, with the usual vegetal notes. A straightforward Islay malt!
