Silver Medal at Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2022

The fruity and flowery character of this rich and medium-bodied Speyside malt was enhanced by a finish for one year in Pedro Ximenez casks, to achieve the golden perfection in a single malt of this age, the perfect balance between all of its qualities. We wanted to achieve a classical and laid-back compromise between winey character and natural maltiness, between sweet fruits and tannins, always retaining the distillery style. At the nose it’s only slightly nutty, and mostly honeyed, raisiny, fruity (peaches, apricots, green apples)… but still very fresh and lively. At the palate, we find the same lovely interplay between creamy sherry, peppery hints, a wonderful juicy softness and tight dry tannins. Malty firmness, and winey character, for a refined interplay between these two souls.
