Caol Ila 2000

A special very limited release of an intense, mineral and very traditional coastal malt. It couldn’t be more typically Islay than it is: an impressive powerhouse of peat smoke, tar and salty maritime aromas, backed by a solid background of clean sweetness from the malt, and the lemony, leafy character that screams Caol Ila. There is a hint of waxy character, but the overall impression remains always that of a whisky that’s pure as crystal, straightforward and bold, extremely smoky and with the sharpness of a blade.
